Please join us on Tuesday 14th December from 6pm as we gather for our annual carol service to sing some of our favourite carols and listen to beautiful Advent and Christmas music sung by our choir. Stay after the service, if you are able, for mulled wine and mince pies.

In line with the latest advice, please wear a mask when attending church this week.

St Stephen Walbrook has been described as “one of the ten most important buildings in England.” Christopher Wren’s parish church, which he rebuilt after the Great Fire, is crowned by the first classical dome in the country. The Samaritans were founded here in 1953 – the world’s first telephone helpline. Our ministry to those who visit, live and work in the City continues today.

December 2022 marks the 350th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of our present building. 2023 marks the tercentenary of Christopher Wren’s death and the seventieth anniversary of the foundation of the Samaritans.

We would love to hear how you would like us to mark these important anniversaries.

Perhaps you would be interested in helping us plan a special event, or know someone who might? Maybe you have connections with a school or college or a choir or drama group who would like to be involved in some way? Perhaps you have tips and advice you can offer? Please get in touch with any ideas and suggestions. We look forward to celebrating with you in 2022.
