This month Rush Hour Jazz is brought to you by Room to Liv, a 24 year old London based artist, whose catalogue of work ranges between the intimacy of trad. jazz and the emotional potency of electronic soul. Classically trained as an opera singer as a child and studying keyboard and composition under the pupilage of acclaimed jazz pianist Roy Hilton, Room to Liv explores the modern world through the nostalgia of influences including Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Eric Satie and Nina Simone. When not pursuing creative endeavours, you can find Room to Liv in a lab coat, eyes adorned in protective goggles teaching Science to her GCSE Year 10s in South East London.

After their fantastic performances in 2021 we welcome back the soulful Rianna Walcott to bring us more Rush Hour Jazz on the first Thursday of every month, beginning Thursday 3rd February 2022!

Rianna sings with a style reminiscent of influences as diverse as Sarah Vaughan to Erykah Badu. Having performed in various combinations between Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Los Angeles over the last decade, her band distills the best elements of a journey into jazz and soul. Join Ri and her boys for an evening of glamour, jazz, and above all, fun.
