Not everyone is able to attend a church on Remembrance Sunday. This week our principal Thursday Service became an Act of Remembrance for the City, during which we prayed for all those around the world whose lives have been lost and those affected by conflict – especially this year remembering the centenary of the signing of the Armistice.
Our Community Choir gave their first public performance, singing “In Flanders Fields” by Roger Emerson and John Jacobson. Our choral scholars sang beautiful pieces for remembrance, including Parry’s My Soul There Is A Country from Parry’s Songs of Farewell. Thank you to Nick and Sue for laying the wreaths at the altar.
If you are interested in singing, or finding out more, why not come along to our Community Choir, which meets on Wednesday lunchtimes from 1pm to 1.45pm. No prior experience singing necessary and there is no need to read music. All are welcome.
