St Hugh, Bishop of Lincoln, the largest diocese in Medieval England, is remembered for his support of for the poor and marginalised, engaging with those in authority to seek justice. He was vehemently opposed to antisemitism and not afraid to stand up to the three Kings under whom he served (Henry II, Richard I and King John). As pandemic throws a light on the inequalities on the world, Hugh of Lincoln stands as an example to us, the church.
