Start:Stop at St Stephen Walbrook enables busy people to start their day by stopping to reflect. Ten minute reflections are repeated on the quarter hour, from 7.45am until 9.00m every Tuesday morning, beginning with a reading from scripture, followed by a reflection based on an event from this week in history, with space for silence and prayer.

This week we reflect on an event on 24th May 1738 when John Wesley felt his heart “strangely warmed” by the presence of God after hearing someone reading from Martin Luther’s preface to the Epistle to the Romans at a meeting in Aldersgate Street. As we head off to work through the streets of the City may we be ‘warmly stranged’ – feeling a sense of confident, renewed liberation to dare to see anew God’s life and work in the world and see how we can be fully part of it.
